Connectivity & visibility
SKYTRAXX confirms that its devices currently use ADS-L Issue 1 for transmission. The manufacturer does not plan an intermediate migration to Issue 2 and states it intends to move directly to Issue 3 once this future specification is finalized. This is the current roadmap announced by SKYTRAXX; no availability date is communicated and no future update is guaranteed. ADS-L In remains inactive to date.

The manufacturer displays the product tag "FLARM/ADS-L" on the SKYTRAXX 5 mini page of its official store (whose title already states "including FANET + FLARM"), confirming standard inclusion (previously a paid option at €99, documented separately under "FLARM (receive) and ADS-L (send)", which specifies the direction: FLARM reception and ADS-L transmission). The Swiss reseller price list from Skytraxx GmbH (valid from 01.01.2026, sent to FlyVisible on 21.08.2026) confirms this inclusion: "SKYTRAXX 5 und SKYTRAXX 5 mini inklusiv FLARM/FANET und ADS-L". ADS-L reception, FLARM transmission and FANET direction (transmit/receive) are not specified by any of these sources — left unverified, do not extrapolate from the generic "FANET/FLARM/ADS-L" mentions in the marketing documentation.

Why this product?
The Skytraxx 5 mini is the compact version of the Skytraxx 5, for paragliding and hang gliding. Since 2026, the device includes as standard the FANET network as well as FLARM reception and ADS-L transmission — previously offered as a separate paid option (“FLARM (receive) and ADS-L (send)”). Thanks to ADS-L Out, your position is broadcast to aircraft equipped with an ADS-L In receiver; thanks to FLARM reception, gliders and other devices transmitting FLARM Out appear on your screen.
