About
FlyVisible — literally "fly visible" — is a Swiss shop created by pilots to facilitate access to electronic perceptibility. Our goal is simple: to help paragliding and free flight pilots understand ADS-L, choose the GPS variometer or ADS-L, FANET or FLARM equipment suited to their practice, and buy it with confidence.
Who is behind FlyVisible
FlyVisible was born from a practice, not a desk idea. I have been paragliding for 20 years, and I have been a private pilot for 10 years — so I know Swiss airspace from both sides: that of the free flight pilot who must be seen, and that of the powered pilot who must see. It is this dual perspective that makes the subject of electronic conspicuity concrete and important to me, long before turning it into a website.
The FOCA plans to introduce an electronic conspicuity requirement in Swiss airspace starting in 2028, subject to the outcome of the regulatory process and stakeholder consultation. The envisaged scheme (FASST-CH plan) provides for several possible means of compliance, notably Mode S, ADS-B Out and ADS-L Out. The precise entry-into-force date and the final terms remain to be confirmed. See the details on our page ADS-L in Switzerland. Beyond this announced development, we consider these technologies as complementary tools that enhance situational awareness in flight — without replacing visual vigilance. FlyVisible exists so that Swiss pilots can equip themselves simply, with clear explanations and no jargon, from someone who flies with the same equipment.
The regulatory information published on FlyVisible is provided for informational purposes and reflects the state of FOCA sources as of the last verification date. The official requirements of the FOCA and competent authorities take precedence. Portable ADS-L devices are non-certified: they improve situational awareness but do not guarantee detection of all traffic and do not replace visual vigilance or the "see and avoid" principle.
Our catalog
We currently distribute GPS variometers and ADS-L equipment Syride and Skytraxx. We are currently identifying other ADS-L, FANET and FLARM manufacturers in order to gradually expand the catalog and offer more choice to Swiss pilots.
